Control the Loading of Summary Resource Assignments in MS project PRO 2007

By default MS project professional when connected to MS Project 2007 displays assignments across all projects for team member’s resources. There are times where we don't want to display resource’s planned work across all assigned projects but only into the currently loaded project.

How do we accomplish that?

First of all we need to open the "Microsoft Office Project Server Accounts…" dialog box located under Tools --> Enterprise Options.
















Then we need to select into the "when starting option" section the "manually control connection state" radio button.


















The next time we try to open MS Project Pro 2007 we will see a dialog box requesting the preferred account to use. In the same dialog box, there is a check box named "Load Summary Resource Assignments" which is checked by default. If you uncheck it you will be able to see only the assignments in the currently loaded project.
